OneTouch UltraEasy Video Review
Transcript

This is the OneTouch UltraEasy from LifeScan. It's pretty much what it says on the tin. One of the things that healthcare professionals have to address is that given the excuse a lot of people won't blood test as much as they should. What the blood test machine companies have to overcome is that resistance.

By making the machines as simple and attractive as possible it should encourage people to blood test. Lancing device comes with the model - you prime it and release like that. I've already got my strip in the meter. Counts down in 5 seconds with a small amount of blood and that's your results just like that.

It can store up to 500 results which you can download to computer and play with using the OneTouch software so you can see patterns and results. It comes in a range of colours. I love this metallic pink - most groovy. They are very nice to old and easy. Different people have different feelings about sizes of screens. If you're not hard of sight maybe you don't need a big screen.

This is quite discreet and it doesn't look medical, which is nice.

I would like to know if this device can display in mg/dl or if you have another tiny meter. Thanks for the answer. SIMON K

The good points of this meter: it's slim and fits in your pocket, time and date and memory function, able to load data. The bad bit, if you have fat clumsy fingers, arthritis, shaky hands or having a hypo, getting the sticks out of the stupid little pots is a real pain, I have dropped them on a number of occasions. I only keep this meter for emergency use. No thought went into getting the strips out the pot. Even my wife hates it and she is a lot more patient than me.

Good evening. Insulin dependant 33 years. This is the best meter I have used. My Doctor likes the fact I can take my results printed out ( he has doubled my test strip script ). I see my specialist next week so will let you have his reaction. Easy to use and download, good computer program. Some probs downloading but a call to the helpline fixed it (64 and not over computer bright). Will buy one to keep in the car as soon as I can afford. Have copied the info and am leaving it at clinic and Doc Surgery/ Many Thanks G
