Around U Dance Day 2010 - Pineapple Dance Studios
More than 40 children enjoyed an energetic day in the internationally renowned Pineapple Dance Studios in Covent Garden, London on August 20, 2010.

The Around U Street Dance Day, run in association with Pineapple Performing Arts School, and sponsored by Bayer Diabetes Care and Diabetes.co.uk, gave the youngsters, all of whom have diabetes, a session being taught by some of the industry’s top dance instructors.
Advances in diabetes research
There was also a chance for parents to hear Dr Aileen King, from King’s College, London, who talked about some of the latest advances in diabetes research. In particular she talked about islet transplantation and some of the opportunities offered by stem cell research in type 1 diabetes.
The children, all aged between six and 16, were divided into two groups and given a full introduction to street dancing by top instructors, learning their moves and being shown how to put together a routine. The afternoon culminated in a full performance in front of their parents and dance instructors.
David Holyoak, from co-sponsor of the event, Diabetes.co.uk, commented on the day: "The children had a wonderful time at Pineapple Dance Studios. It was genuinely impressive to see how they learned the combinations of dance moves so quickly and so well. Thanks to Pineapple dance instructors from Pineapple Performing Arts School for making the day so much fun and to the Pineapple Dance Studios for hosting a successful event."
