The story is not so different from other people's stories that we read on this forum, what is it particularly that disturbs you about it?

(I felt the need to edit my post because I had written 'success stories' which implies someone has overcome their diabetes - and this is where I think your concern might be)

Maybe it was just the way it was written, I know a lot of people here have done similar, me included. I think your right it's just reads(to me) "I have reversed diabetes" implying its been cured" I would rather it said, I have slowed progression down!

Or maybe it was just I read it at 3:15am and not awake properly

You're right though, its light on details like diet and meds, its feels a bit like rosy journalism.

So you believe that progression is inevitable?

And my blood-sugar levels are almost normal. Diabetes is regarded as a chronic, permanent condition, but if my doctor was testing me today for the first time he’d probably say I don’t have it.

This is significant, I think. It is almost certainly true for me.

Not entirely, it is if you follow the NHS guidelines, if you have great control and keep your BG Levels low then there's no reason you have to have progression. My wording if slowed down is just that, if I have slowed down progression to an almost standstill then all good, I don't think you can stop it completely as this would then be a "cure" :D

Looks perfectly fine to me and just shows what you can achieve.

OK - I think we are using the word 'progression' differently. For me, progression means a worsening condition, which is how i understand the NHS to use it. On that interpretation stopping progression means to stay where you are, with whatever condition you have.

I know exactly where Bio is coming from. Over the last few weeks we have had two posters claiming that should we follow their diet and exercise plan our Diabetes would be 'cured'. We were all up in arms about this, especially for newly diagnosed posters reading that and believing if they got their BG under control, they would be cured, and could go back to the diet they previously enjoyed. We all know that isn't possible, and so that is where the defensiveness has come from. It's a case of be very wary of any one who says they are cured.
