I have been sprinkling Flax Seed, which is actually quite tasty, on things - it's fine on porridge, yoghurt and salads. I'm doing the Food Hospital Fibre Challenge thingummy and it is difficult to find high fibre stuff.

When doing proper low carb there's no need for high fibre. Sorry to say but there's a lot of rubbish in the Food hospital program.

What a load of rubbish ! and what is "proper low carb" anyway?
There are several posts on this forum about constipation on a low carb diet - I have experienced this and had added some fibre to my diet to overcome it. I eat around 30-50g of carb a day - maybe that's not 'proper low carb'

Two things I've heard re. constipation and low carb - (1) increase your salt and fluids and (2) increase fat.
I eat a low carb/low starch and low fibre diet (low fibre because of IBS) and have actually found things to 'move' better without added fibre, esp. the insoluble fibre in things like metamucil etc.
Magnesium supplements also help keep the 'poop factory' moving nicely

I add flax to my diet daily and have not had any problems. Holland and Barrett, Sainsbury's and most health food shops sell it. I know you can get it on Amazon and I would imagine all supermarkets stock it. You can buy it whole and grind it yourself, or already ground. Just a couple of tablespoons (30g) a day works like a charm.

You can buy either wheat or oat bran at some health food shops; flax seeds are good, as already stated. Rhubarb is high fibre and can be sweetened with (eg) Splenda in powder form. Drink plenty of plain water. If you are a low salt user, like me, extra salt helps too.
I too have problems with constipation and always have had on low-carb. All the above help; if all else fails I resort to Andrews' Liver Salts, but that's not often.
Another thing that helps is allowing enough time for a bowel movement. Don't rush things. Take the paper in with you - and be prepared to be shouted at by the rest of the family!

I swear by raspberries (200g = 13g fibre and 9.5g carbs), and Waitrose edemamme and aduki bean salad (1/2 a pot is 100g = 10.5g fibre and 5.5g carbs) - have both in the same day and thats all your recommended fibre requirements sorted for 15g carbs. I also use things like milled Flax seeds and Chia seeds and aim for 30+g fibre

I never take any notice of how much fiber I have a day, but your post made me go back to yesterdays food diary. I actually had 15g yesterday, which is around half of yours. It's another one of those things that shows we are all different. Ironically it seems I manage 15g almost every day. Although my diet is a bit samey, so not too surprising I guess.

To help get rid of the constipation take some daily magnesium citrate, 250-500 mg, H&B got it.
If you do low carb high fat eat you don't need to think about fibers.

And don't forget, constipation is the feeling of needing to go, but you can't. Not going without any other problems is not constipation.

Unless you subscribe to the "scrubbing your colon with a wire brush" school of thinking, fibre is overrated. You don't need to add it to your diet.
