Difficult to narrow down my top 5 Superfoods but these are the ones I eat most days to keep me healthy:
Oats
Bananas
Blueberries
Broccoli
Oily fish (Mackerel)

HbA1c July 2011 - 8.0.
HbA1c September 2011 - 6.5.
HbA1c November 2011 - 5.9
HbA1c April 2012 - 40 (5.8 )
HbA1c June 2012 - 37 (5.5 )
No diabetic medication.

Beans (all varieties).
Oily fish.

I forgot the thing that's always in my fridge.
Red and white cabbage, and onion all finely shredded on my trusty mandolin. A handful of that goes a long way.

nuts such as walnuts, almonds and brazil
unsweetened plain yoghurt
all green leafy veg
other veg such as onions, celery, tomato
olive oil
there are others but the question is limited to 5 otherwise I may have added fish, eggs, red wine etc
