low blood pressure or not????

Hi all
I am agtet a bit of afdvice as some if you mzy be aware i suffer witj tetinopatjy and recently underwent a vitrectomy op to try and halt further progression.
A few months ago i started geoing blund temporarily when i stand up. Only lasts boit 5 sec and seems to affect my operated eye more so. I mentioned this to the eye doc before i had op and was told its the pool of blood inside the eye but now ive had blood removed during op but im still getting the blindness. Think tjey assumed it eas eye related for obvious teasons but i am starting to think otherwise. I am on blood pressure tablets fir kidneys and simvastarin as prevzution evrn tho my cholesterol is fine. It seem strange to me thst this happens when i stand. My head also feels a bit dizzy which agsin im thinking is more lIkely to be linked to blood pressure nit eyes.
Just wanted to find out if anyone has experuenced such things.

I also get a "swimmy head" when i stand from being bent over. My vision isn't affected, but Idefinitely have blood pressure issues. I'm on medication, but that was recently changed, beccause it went TOO low.
you need to get your GP to check it out

Some antihypertensive medications have side effects that can cause dizziness and low blood pressure. Perhaps the medications you are taking are causing Orthostatic hypotension, also known as postural hypotension. It can be also known as head rush or dizzy spell which is a form of hypotension in which a person's blood pressure suddenly falls when standing up or stretching. See your physician or Nurse about this.

Thanks chalsedony, i daw my gp on monday and he has taken me off of the indepamide. I have not had the blinding vision or dizziness since tuesday afternoon so im hopung that was the cause.

You're most welcome leb. It is also important that you have your blood pressure monitored before and after taking medications that can decrease blood pressure (antihypertensives).
