Hi Never used a glucolab meter. but you will find them on neondiagnostics.co.uk. They do a starter kit for about £17, not sure about test strip prices.

Wilfieboy I also live in Gloucestershire but use the WaveSense meter I think you have a choice. My mate was given the Glucolab and we had a look and I have to say I think you got a raw deal. The Jazz uses half the amount of blood to run a test, seems accurate and I really like its simplicity, but more than that my mate found that the Glucolab meter was a pig to set up and he kept losing results from it have you found the same problem? Turns out you can end up setting different user ID's and also delete results it's a messy meter and really confusing.

Hi,
The Glucolab meter is very easy to use, it comes preset in the box so requires no set up. All you need to do is put the strip in the meter and test! It even turns itself on and off when you put the strip in and take it out.
The ID function is there if a meter is set up for multiple users ie in a nursing home and does not need setting for single users.
The support offered by the helpline is excellent they will sort any problem you have out.
Its about as simple as it can get

I found the glucolab meter always ran a couple of points higher than my other meters and lack of backlight a pain at night the pc prog hard to use ,all in all not as good as the jazz meter which i also trialled but fortunatly for me im allowed to continue using the roche expert and strips
The glucolabs higher readings made my insulin bolus decisions hard but if its only a number you need ie tablet or diet control guess that doesnt matter so much
