Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12

I have type 2 diabetes and i was wondering if it is ok for me to take Vitamin B12 with my metformin i am on 850 3x a day and 98 units of Lantus insulin per day + 38 units of Novorapid insulin per day. :D

I'm no expert but can't see it'll do any harm as metformin inhibits the uptake of b12, my mum is on insulin but has b12 injectionsat the doctors & I guess many of us take a multivitamin pill with it in wthout giving it a thought

Again I am no expert, but I am aware that taking a single one of the B vitamins on it's own is not a good idea. It can actually deplete the some of the other B vitamins. Far better to take a " B Complex" and then if you want, take extra B12.

Or eat Tesco's Yeast Extract on toast for brekkie, far better than that pale imitation of it's former self marmite. (It doesn't deserve a capitol !!).
