The problem with snoring is very well-known and often commented upon. A little less known, but more dangerous to people’s health, is sleep apnea where a person stops breathing (for several seconds) while asleep. The ResMed S9 Elite is a product designed to alleviate potential harmful (let alone distressing) sleep apnoea.

Diasend HOME medical information software allows you and your healthcare team to keep in contact without actually having to meet up at clinic with all the transport, parking, waiting around that involves. Let the device send your data direct to their website and let your care team take a look and give you advice on what they see while you stay at home with a cup of tea.

Reduce the fear of having a night-time hypo with HypoMon – a non-invasive hypo alarm device. MyLife PenFine needles give added insurance that your pen needle is correctly attached by giving you a nice fat “click” when it’s in place – no worries, job done.

Abbott’s FreeStyle Navigator is a continuous glucose monitoring system (CGM) which allows those with more fragile control to get extra insights that will lead to fewer adventures in too-high and too-low blood glucose control.

Hello from Sue Marshall
Transcript

Hi, my name is Sue Marshall and I've had type 1 diabetes since I was 5, which is going back a few decades - back to the 70s. Since then, there's been a lot of changes in diabetes care. I'm particularly interested in new products and technologies that can help us live with our condition and make things a little easier, and obviously help our control to be better.

So, in association with Diabetes.co.uk, I'm going to do a series of little videos which I hope you find useful.

More about Sue Marshall

She is a published author, edits newsletters and contributes to nationally distributed magazines.

Sue has had insulin-dependent diabetes since the age of five. In 2003 Sue set up Desang, a company selling diabetes kitbags and other diabetes accessories and the website has become an information centre on many aspects of living with the condition, focusing especially on diabetes management equipment. Desang.net is also an online resource for people with diabetes with interviews, articles, news and views about living with the condition.

Says Sue: “If you get kit you find easy to use and unobtrusive, then you’re more likely to use it. And for a diabetic, that can lead to better control of the condition. I want to help people get information so they can make the best choices for self-managing the condition.”
