      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I&#039;m newly diagnosed T3c - yeah... that&#039;s gonna be fun explaining to docs and nurses for years to come.<br />
<br />
Basically T3c = my pancreas is a bit busted (I had pancreatitis, but they&#039;re also checking for mild cystic fibrosis). The current situation is that I still make my own background insulin, but don&#039;t make bolus insulin in response to a meal.<br />
<br />
I&#039;ve been put on Repaglinide, and told to titrate the dose until I get normal post-prandial readings without going hypo.<br />

For you who have increased gliclazide from 80 to 120mg on account of symptoms of hyperglycemia and fatigue, with increased bg numbers, something strange has happened to me.  Something so strange that I think only a pharamacologist would understand:  I cut my gliclazide dose by 40mg in order to save a batch in case I needed extras, and to my surprise, I do not feel so much fatigue. A few weeks ago I was diagnosed with T2. I was prescribed metformin and gliclazide. 1 x5 metformin and 1x gliclazide per day to start. After almost 3 weeks, despite eating less than half I was eating before, and mostly carb free (including &#039;hidden&#039; sugars), I am up almost 2 kg on the weight I was 3 weeks ago. I&#039;m actually splitting it into 40mg x 2 taken with breakfast and then later in the day (not sure yet if it should be evening meal, or bedtime) as even this makes me feel a bit heady in the late afternoon.<br />

For the first couple of days I had the shakes a couple of times around lunch time (scary as totally new to me this feeling). Thinking my BS was too low I checked it and it was around 5.1. The shakes passed after a couple of days and I put this down to coming down from 22 to 5 in a matter of days. The pain in my feet has reduced by a large amount as well.<br />

I was sitting in bed with three layers on a blanket around me and I was ice cold to the touch I couldn&#039;t get warm. I take 2 gliclazide with breafast and 2 with dinner, started on this max dose when my levels were high 20s (I take 2 metformin at the same time).<br />
I asked DN recently about reducing amount seeing as my A1C had gone down and she said not yet, they&#039;re still too high, which sometimes they are, but lower numbers are getting much more common before dinner now.<br />
It was 4.5 before dinner tonight so am wondering if I should...<br />
