Hi my name is Nick I'm a type 1 I'm going to run the Bath Half Marathon in March for Diabetes UK and wondered if anyone would like to sponser me. I've been Diabetic for 35 years and throughout this time I've needed some expert help and advice from many doctors and diabetic specialists nurses. I suppose on times I've taken all the care I have recieved for granted. As I'm a keen runner I would like to rasie £250 for Diabetes U.K. so they can care for many others like us. I have a just giving page so if you could spare sometime perhaps you would help sponser me. Just think if everyone on this forum gave just £1.00 that would raise a large amount for the Charity. Anyway take care . My page link is: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/Nick-Jones50

Hi guys,

Just found this.. Lol, Bath's my home town.
I found myself working there today at the water station at the start/finish area..?

Great to see some DUK & JDRF shirts being sported!

I do a bit of JDRF fund raising myself with the Wiltshire Rock Diabetes scene..

I might have taken some water off you - thanks for doing that, it's such a well organised event and the atmosphere and weather was great.

I got round in 2:26. I think speed was somewhat stalled by my pod falling off at 3k so sugars were 16+ throughout and there was nothing I could do about it. My legs don't like listening to me when I'm high, and when I'm high what im telling them is pretty likely to be s*d this, lets give up! I had to tell them to just keep running cos getting to the end would mean I can stick a new pod on and have some insulin! 2 corrections later and I'm starting to come down, but still up in double figures with 1mmol/l of ketones. But my legs are feeling much happier after the walk home from temple meads, that was a good choice.

Today's my birthday and I've raised just over £800 for JDRF, because a cure would be the best birthday present :)
