Can injuries cause a rise in BG ?

In my experience no, I broke my ankle on Oct 1st and had my hba1c done at the end on November and it was 33. I was pre diabetic in 2009 and have maintained normal blood glucose readings ever since then by low carbing. But this was lower than the last few normal readings. And I was doing no...

    Seriously? (Low Carb Advice)

But low carb was a thing in 2009, and not everyone who has pre diabetes goes on to develop diabetes, that it a fact. It was a real blow to me at the time.

    Seriously? (Low Carb Advice)

I was not impressed with diabetes UK at all. When I was first diagnosed as pre diabetic as a slim, fit woman I rang their helpline. The person told me it was inevitable I would develop full blown type 2 diabetes and that there was nothing I could do to stop it. Thank god I found this site and...

Staggered and saddened by this information!

I find the attitude of Diabetes UK quite patronising in their attitude. They were teasing asian community like children in not telling them the full facts and leaving them to make the decision on how much they change their diet with the benefit of full knowledge.

The Low Carb Food Company have ceased trading!

I remember the lidl rolls! Livlife bread is pleasant and is3.4 gms per slice. You get it from waitrose.

Hi I have a question about Dr Greger author of, How not to die. And exponent of the plant-based diet, he says fat causes diabetes not carbs.

In my case I think it is a load of bull. I eat high fibre, low saturated fat, exercised and kept slim my whole life and still got pre diabetes. I've kept normal bg levels by low carbing since 2009.

Sometimes, just sometimes, it goes wrong. (Low carb, dining out)

A bit like teenagers predrink, only we're pre eating! Seriously I have done this occasionally if we're going to eat at someone's house.

It does look amazing but I feel a bit disheartened reading about the food, it sounds as if low carbing will be very difficult. I've low carbed for 14 year and holidays are the one time I feel a bit fed up, at home it's easy! I hope @AndBreathe can help.

We're thinking of going to cambodia and vietnam on holiday, will be touring around. Is it possible to low carb, I'm not a vegetarian but too much meat or fish gives me indigestion, will there be anything to eat for me!

    Weight or is it?

My sympathies its a bum**r isn't it! Although I was slim through strict eating and a runner when diagnosed as prediabetic, it wasn't natural! I've low carbed for 13 years never again had even a pre Diabetic hba1c but I still have a pre diabetic fasting bg and can't eat many carbs, in the...

Diet controlled type 2 - low blood sugar

If you're used to running at high blood sugars, having normal blood sugar ratings can feel like a hypo when you first go low carb. It did for me.

    Treats

I have the occasional piece of 90% chocolate. I also have a small slice of nigellas chocolate olive oil cake (Google it) made with xylitol. Don't see the point of eating a carby sweet treat.

Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you die. Perhaps.

Well that must have been a shock to sai the least, well done on getting through the treatment. I'm pleased you're clear of cancer now, long may it continue.
