Why are eggs so discouraged in prediabetes diet?

Here is a link to an article (one of many) by Zoe Harcombe about the 'possible' problems with state-suggested diets. HERE. It's UK-based but may suggest why you are being given suspect advice .

    Meal times

I think her theory is that, if we only eat lunch and dinner, because most of seem have some sort of 'spike' in the morning when our liver dumps, the two following meals means we have 3 spikes a day. Measured with a finger prick I think. She is suggesting we eat instead of that first spike...

    Meal times

Here's an interesting idea, new to me anyway, although I'm sure others may have have come across it. I do low carb, 20 or 30g per day I would think that includes milk in coffee and my daily fix of peanuts. I also time-control eat by skipping breakfast (apart from a few brews). Lunch at 12-...

Good for you. We all try manage things the best we can. I too eat very little fruit, but occasionally a few raspberries with extra thick cream!

Dr Sten Ekburg on fruits for T2 diabetics

Here is another really good video By Dr Sten Ekburg (He's a former decathlete by the way!) There is some very encouraging news about some fruits, berries for example, towards the end. Again, none of this is set in stone, but it can be used to help you make up your own minds. One thing is that...

    Dr Michael Eades

Interesting post this week from Michael Eades. Diet, insulin sensitivity, low carb - all sorts. Well worth a read.

    Fibromyalgia

My wife has fibromyalgia. Hers come and goes and she seems to get discomfort cropping up in random places. There doesn't seem to be any logic to it. She saw a neurologist who was very considerate and gave her detailed a explanation of his take on it. She was offered medication (Gabapentin) but...

    Dr Sten Ekburg

Good for you. I would never suggest that advice seen on You Tube be 'gold-plated', however much I agree with Dr Ekburg. What I think is that videos like this can be used as part of our personal decision on how to look after our own health. I personally don't trust much 'establishment advice'...

    Dr Sten Ekburg

Here's a You Tube video about saturated fat and carbs. But I think more than that he offers a good explanation of the effect fat and carbs have on us. I saw a thread about a lady struggling with Metformin and the advice given to try the low carb approach instead. Dr Ekburg is one of the...

Walking the Camino to Santiago de Compostela

Great adventure, best of luck. I've never hard if The English Way before. Is this the route you're taking? As for food intake, I can't help really. My life is a balance between loads of exercise, red wine and peanuts. Would a glucose monitor fit into your knapsack?

smoking cessation (I feel like I'm losing it)

'Kids at home...' There's your incentive to keep at it. I haven't smoked for about 9 years but ciggies initiated the condition that will ultimately take my life.

    Hi from Canada!

Hi The first three are facts you can't do much about. Weight looks spot on. What's your strict diet? Low carb for example? Do you have an HbA1C number? Where in Canada? I have great memories. One of my favourite countries. (I'm UK)
