    Using Fiasp on a pump?

I've been using fiasp in my pump for a couple of years and no problems. I find it works very well for me compared to novarapid or humalog! I had no idea it wasn't recommended in pumps until I swapped to tslim tandem and dexcom last month and my DSN mentioned it. Unless I run into problems I'm...

    Fiasp in pregnancy

I use humalog so no experience of fiasp. But I definitely experienced similar problems in early pregnancy and now I am further along my insulin requirements have also increased massively which is normal. I would be inclined to think it' mainly down to pregnancy. I would probably do basal and...

Type 1 diabetic, baby measuring small!

Did you have a section with your first? I can't see a reason for a section just because baby is on a low centile. I would question your consultant on that. Has the baby been measuring small the whole pregnancy or have they dropped centiles? Some babies are just smaller than others and are...

Type 2 diabetic in need of urgent help

Firstly congratulations on your pregnancy. Your iinsulin requirements will only increase as the pregnancy progresses so it's important to get them controlled now. What are you blood sugars running at right now? Can you see a pattern to when you are going high? Have you asked your dsn why she...

Exhausted by my fluctuations in glucose levels

Firstly congratulations on your pregnancy! I am type 1 but as you're on insulin I am guessing your treatment is similar. Just a few questions. Do you carb count and know your insulin to carb ratio? Do you use an insulin correction factor? (So if you're above target, you take 1 unit of insulin...

    Preconception levels

I've never been to preconception clinic because I fell pregnant waiting for the appointment! In regards to how to get your levels in target as much as possible, the following has helped me: Do basal testing to check if your basal is right. Once you're sure they are, do the same for checking...

    The all-inclusive T1ED + retinopathy thread

Sorry to hear this. I had the same news, it is a shock isn't it. What did the consultant say? Although it is a shock and sucks, it can be treated so it shouldn't get worse and they will monitor you closely.x I am almost 20 weeks pregnant so had an extra eye screen a couple of weeks ago. I...

Changing onto a pump while pregnant?

Thanks Azure! I started my pump on Wednesday It's been a difficult few days.. and my DSN went away on holiday on Friday for 10 days so not the best timing, I spoke to her on Thurs though. I have been left to it to change basals although she did give me instructions. I feel more confident...

Would using a pump be safer for me?

If you do have type 1, you could do the exact same thing with the pump. You can set a "max bolus" on the pump so you can't give over x amount of units, however you obviously cant set that any lower than you would for the largest meal/correct you need. In a way I think the pump would be LESS...

    Cellnovo

My area no longer supply this pump due to endless problems with it. Sorry I know that's probably not what you want to hear. Is that the only pump they are offering or the only tubeless one? As you're already using omnipod could you not make a special request to continue it?

Changing onto a pump while pregnant?

Sorry to post again but I don't want to make a new thread so will update here. I am starting my pump on Wednesday!! Funding has come through :) My hba1c is 48/6.6 which is better than I thought. Previous to that it was 6.9. Also had other blood results for liver and kidneys etc and they are...

    hba1c pre pregnancy

My a1c is 48 and I am 17 weeks pregnant. It was 52 when I conceived and my team were fine with that. I'm now having frequent hypos which isn't good either, and my consultant said my a1c may rise a bit once I cut down on hypos and that that is ok.
