Thank you so much @Juicyj That’s great advice I will definitely do what you suggested. This erratic sugar is driving me mad and I feel rubbish with it. Thanks again I really appreciate it.

    Crazy sugar

Hello @Juicyj Yes when I eat I always bolus. I treat my lows mainly with Coke or dextrose tablets. I am aware that I can consume more than sometimes is needed in that moment where you feel rough as. I have a correction dose on my Medtronic pump set 1:4 so every 1 unit reduces my sugar by 4. If...

    Crazy sugar

Hello I have been exercising and eating high protein diet along with carbs. I’ve lost nearly 3 stone. My sugar levels the past three weeks have been so erratic, they swing from high to low and then low to high. I’m on a pump, I was due to see consultant urgently but this has been cancelled and...

    Type one and weight gain

I’ve gained around 2 1/2 stone in around 3 months. I’ve been exercising and eating well, I did low carbs and when I’ve previously done this two years ago I lost a bit of weight. I’ve done the 800 cal diet, and now I’m doing 16:8 fasting but I’ve not lost a pound. I’m really strict with my food...

    New to 16:8

Hello I’m type one and started 16;8 fasting yesterday. My overall control is 6.8 but I want it to be lower. I done no carbs for two weeks but didn’t lose weight, I need to lose 2-3 stone so I thought maybe 16:8 will help me. Can any of you share with me your success stories on this way of life?

    CGM advice

A CGM is quite bulky on your tummy, but I have to be honest I love my dexcom CGM. It’s a life saver for me, I have poor hypo awareness so the alarms are my life line. My control has also improved since having one the last two years. I wouldn’t be without it now and self fund one. So many...

C Section - unable to drive but need to do school run [emoji51]

I was driving after 3 weeks form c section. I spoke to my insurance company and they said as long as I was fit and it was agreed by midwife/gp then no problems at all. I know some insurances point blank say no but most now will say it’s ok as long as you’ve had clearance from GP/health...

    Steroids

She was in hospital for 5 and half weeks. She was 2lb 9 born. She did well and avoided infections, she struggled to put weight on which held her back a bit. She’s 18 months now and running me ragged [emoji85] but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I hope you’re doing ok.

Planned section at 34 weeks - any experience?

My daughter was born at 30 weeks, leaving them in SCBU is hard, but she’s 18 months and developing as she should. SCBU will look after your little girl. I think born around 34-35 weeks the biggest issue will be feeding. They will support you immensely. Fingers crossed it’s a short stay and your...
