T2 controlled but hand & mid toe on right side have swollen up,both very sore to move? Arthritis or diabetes? Anyone else had such symptoms?

My diabetic doctor thinks I have a rare type diabetes I do not fit the usual profile .. never oweight, exercised, f history show no diabetes
7.2 one hour after low carb sandwich lunch with 2 low carb biscuits and dark choc coated raspberries and a cup of black tea without sugar.
currently between 4.4 and 6
Now 5.1 mmol/L to 6.5 mmol/L, have a good food list to keep me stable & its growing. Ordered low carb bread for my list if it tests ok.
5.9 today but overnight fasting reading this morning was 9.6 mmol/l which could have been 2 slices wholegrain bread I tested night before.
All 2 hr after food & fasting reads now in 6 mmol/L range. Feeling good, not tired now. Gone to 11 stone from 11st 4lb & good BMI range.
6.2 = fast 8.2 = 1hr >bfast 7.3 = 2hr >bfast 8.3 = 2hr >lunch 8.9 = 2hr >tea 6.5 = fast 7.8 = 1hr >bfast 6.9 = 2hr >bfast 7.1 = 1hr >lunch
Much better results having been helped via this website .... I am still testing different foods for a good choice of diet.
