Good point, @nosher8355
. I specialise in psychotic rage with a depressed weepy aftermath. Kind of like PMT on steroids.

Goodness me Brun this sounds like me! I feel horrible afterwards as it is not in my DNA to behave like this and yet I do. I worry about the impact it has on my relationship and my kids but hopefully I will get better and things will improve. What a lot we have to contend with x

I have been with Mr B for 9 years now. As soon as he looked like a keeper, i sat him down and we had a good long chat. I tried to explain that when i say 'I am hypoing' - and sometimes, that is ALL i can say - he needs to turn and leave the room, no talking, no discussion, no interaction, just turn and leave me totally alone. He has to trust me to treat the hypo and give me space. Then, when i am fit company, i will let him know.

He didn't get it to start with, but a couple of hypos later (i very nearly got violent with a knife), he learned. It is wonderful, now. I eat. I sit. I chill. I return to humanity. It is a luxurious privilege - and very rare. Now i am in ketosis they are never that bad any more.

It is strange to be out of control like that, but it is a relief to get a (so far) working mechanism to deal with it. And as i say, i barely ever need it now, and any recent occurrences are soooo much milder.

I'll stick around :) I'm probably not going to go down the way of full-on low-carb, at least not in the near future, but I am too reliant on carbs with meals based on pasta, rice or bread. I want to see what happens when it's substantially decreased.

Hi Blank. Welcome! Good that you have found us. I honestly thought I was going crazy until I found this forum as I have also had all the symptoms from mid teens. Docs could never find anything wrong with me and I have only ever been treated for chronic anxiety and IBS. After a random blood glucose test at the docs at the end of last year I started to google pre-diabetes, posted on here and Brun pointed me in the right direction :). Having lived in Italy for years my diet consisted of mainly pasta, pizza and bread. Normal day: skip breakfast, sandwich for lunch, pasta in the evening. Result: constantly tired, bloated, dizzy and too many days phoning in sick to work! I have been following the HFLC regime for a month now and I have honestly never felt better. I got up at 6.15 this morning, ( before alarm clock), fbg 5.4, have had coffee and cream and some yummy raspberries and put a wash on and hoovered ( much to my neighbours annoyance!)

If you can cut out or cut down on the carbs, I am sure you will feel the benefits pretty quickly. Stick with us, read lots and you get some great LCHF tips from the low carb forum. Of course Brun and Nosher are always on hand - their advice is invaluable!

Good luck :)

Sorry @Brunneria only just seen this but thanks for sharing it makes me feel so much better. Not sure Andy understands fully yet but he is coming with me to see the consultant today xxx
