They can modestly increase blood sugar levels which can be enough to tip people from having borderline diabetes levels up to having diabetes diagnosis levels.

Yes, they can. There is a warning on the leaflets in the packets that a potential side effect is raised glucose levels.

I was prescribed statins and if I take them continuously i.e. every day I see an increase in my fasting blood sugar. I only take one or two a week (10 mg) otherwise I have to up my basal rate. From my own personal experience I believe they can cause insulin resistance.

I found high dose artichoke tablets and margarine fortified with plantoids really helped to lower my LDL cholesterol significantly, so that's my strategy and it works.

Great money spinner aren't they? Create a drug to solve a non-problem which then creates other real problems which require more drugs. Ker-ching!
