Prejudiced people (my son has learning difficulties) and not being able to find a job
Morning folks, apologies for my absence but I was dashing about like a clockwork mouse yesterday! As well as going to the jobs fair I also had to make a trip to Sainsburys so I was flat out when I got back, I just watched a knitting podcast and had an early night. DS was struggling a bit yesterday so I found out that Mind have a local branch just over the road from us, I'm going to go over there with him when he eventually wakes up :)

Hmmm - Had a good day yesterday (11/2/16) with daily blood sugars. Not too good a start with 6.8 at 8.45am. Just had a Banana for Breakfast, Lunch was just buttered wholegrain toast, tested before Dinner and it was 5.0 only had cupasoup and dry slice of toast. Then early evening ate a packet of Rolo's and had 2 slices of cheese on toast for supper (felt hungry) and just before bed tested b.s. to find a 4.2. Then this morning (12/2/16) got a 4.8 at 8am. Of course I drink lots of Water, black unsweetened coffees and herbal teas throughout the day. But, I am not going to have a good day b.s. wise - I just know it???

So annoyed with specialist. He warned me about risk of thrush and water infections on canagliflozin but this is horrific!
After having it for 2+ yrs due to pregnancy and hormones then getting rid of it with insulin control I cannot do this anymore. The canagliflozin has to go! I'll rough it with insulin/diet and exercise. I cannot suffer this again. :-(

@mo53 - Some days I don't and can't face food and have to make myself eat, then other days it's completely different! Taking tablets make me feel nauseated especially the Iron Tablet (which is why I only take the 1 and not 2 a day) at my last blood check my Iron levels were "acceptable" so GP said. I don't go on the Vegetarian Forum anymore - I ate a Lasagne a few days ago made with mince and I enjoyed it! (going to buy a few more of them from Waitrose) so from noon today I cannot have anything for 3 hours till my scan is over and I have been "promised" a Cream Tea afterwards = Fat and Sugar - yum yum.:hungry::hungry:

Hi mo53 I know the feeling up and down like a yo yo then when its time to get up I start to get sleepy. Gone to bed at different times stayed up late sometimes, no change cant win.:spitoutdummy::spitoutdummy:

Hi lizanne Well done you,:happy: wish my BG levels could drop in the 5s probably a bit early for me yet but saying I started off in Jan this year with BG reading of 19.3 and now in the 6-7 range don't think I have done too bad

Not too bad? You've done amazingly well @amgrundy you are without doubt WELL on the way to your desired 5s You do know that some of your readings (if not all of them) are in the 'normal' range, don't you? Big round of applause!

Hi lizanne, No I didn't know thank you for that. Some of my readings are in normal range, nobody explained readings to me yet, only the doctor said 2 weeks ago that he was happy for me to be under 10s? and didn't need to test every day just a few times a week but I told him I need to test as I am still experimenting with different foods, don't think he understood me really.

Thanks, I fancied a change. They took his details down and put him on the waiting list for one to one counselling. It will take some time but at least the wheels are in motion now

Hello @amgrundy . I will confess I did the ostrich after the meal and didn't take my bs until the next morning.

@liam1955 you enjoy your cream tea. Eat every crumb and drop of cream. My mouths watering thinking about a cream tea lol.

Normal readings are Before meals 4.0-5.9. 2hrs after meals under 7.8
Good Type 2 readings before meals 4.0-7.0. 2hrs after meals under 8.5

If you go onto the main page of this site there is a box on the top right called search where you can type in anything you want to know e.g. blood glucose readings or Hba1c etc and it will take you to the article you want.that's how I learn
