@13lizanne - Anna - @mo53 Scan was done and I was told the result.
Anything over 7.5 indicates Fibrosis.
Anything over 14.5 indicates Cirrhosis.
My score was 10 - so have Fibrosis, which can be treated and have to see a Liver Specialist.

Cream Tea was enjoyable and devilish!!! Looked around shops and I bought nothing. Wm

That's great @liam1955 ! Not that you have fibrosis- that's awful! but that it can be treated. Glad you enjoyed the cream tea, hope you get a good, restful sleep Anna

Went off the rails because of my anxiety about having the scan this afternoon, - but had my "promised" Cream Tea - just a smidging of jam, but had ALL the clotted cream. Got home and ate (Waitrose) Shephards Pie - made with Beef Mince, followed by Slice of shop bought Apple Pie. NOT checking b.s. tonight before bed. Will be interesting to see what it is in the morning? Good Night Anna and Mo.

Hi liam 1955 Your welcome and yes I have had a good day today with my BG readings, 6.3 before breakfast and tonight 2hrs after dinner 5.3. Lowest ever. Posted earlier saying I was 19.3 in January this year and now only 5 weeks on got down to these readings. Thanks to all the help, support, information, and peoples diets etc; don't think I would have these readings so soon, thank you so much everyone and all the replies I have off people like yourself.

6.4 this morning so going down. Having had a good look at my readings and a lot of thinking as to why my morning reading had gone a bit higher I do now think that sleep has been the problem and then of course a bit of stress as to why doesn't help. The very highest reading I've had over the last few weeks was 7.3 two hours after a meal so that's OK but most of them have been a lot lower. Sleep is improving, I had some bruising a few weeks ago which is now healing but I am still aware when I turn over in bed and it wakes me. This is really minor but I think this is a likely factor.

Good morning all I'm having 10 mins peace with a cuppa before the madness begins. I have to go shopping for my parents, whip round and make their lunch and walk the dog. Also, my daughter has been asked to do a 5k run. She came home with a 'couch to 5k' training plan. For some stupid reason, my mouth opened and said 'oooh would you like me to do it with you?' Our training starts today. What was I thinking? I haven't run since I was about 10 - apart from the odd dash for a bus - and one recent memorable panicked run around an airport! I'm going to die

@Wayne36 - I agree, just stick to using the meter provided by the Diabetic Nurse. Did you remember to wash your hands before testing? There will be times when your b.s. will 'baffle' you, but I would not let it bother you too much, unless you know what you have eaten to cause the spike. I ate stuff yesterday that I knew was going to raise my b.s. and before bed at 1.30am it was 8.5 and then this morning at 9.15am it was 8.4!!! (But, it was an anxious day as I was having a Liver Scan done.)

Thank you @liam1955. We had a lovely evening. I ate and drank far too much including some carbs (lentils) and 3 large glasses of red wine. 1 hour after dinner my reading was 6.7, 2 hours after eating it was 6.1 and then my fbg this morning was my lowest yet at 5.8. I was expecting really high readings so im pkeased but confused. Maybe my new diet should be lentils and red wine!

@TooManyCrisps - That is a brilliant result. I know lentils and pulses are carbohydrates - but I don't think? they are as high as Potatoes. Someone will come along, read this and put us right - but that is what I love about this forum, we are all so knowledgeable about different things and help each other. I use pulse's a lot in homemade vegetable soup, a lot of people don't like them! (they can give you wind) Well Done you on your b.s. this morning I have awarded you = WINNER - yeah!!!

@mo53 - Hiya Mo, how you doing? Don't seem to have had much 'banter' with with you of late? Good you slept through the night. I fight not to go for a nap in the afternoon - because my Arthritis hurts when I lay down (got it in my spine) and I have trouble sleeping g anyway throughout the night. How's your Diabetes doing? Had any recent meals out?

Hello @liam1955 . Sorry I've just found your post. Sorry to hear about your arthritis. I'm fine today thanks. It was interesting that when I managed to sleep properly that my morning bs was lower. I had a brilliant meal out in Hull on Wednesday evening but I couldn't stick to my low carb.

@mo53 - Have you got a "Sugar Daddy" who takes you out for meals? I also like to be taken out, remember this for next time!! (he,he). I was born in Hull - but moved to York when I was 5 yrs old. However, we drive through to go shopping (clothes) and when we go to Belgium & Holland get P & O Ferry from there. I reckon if I slept better solidly through the night my blood sugars would be brilliant. Did you notice in my postings that I'm no longer on the Vegetarian Thread. My GP said I ought to eat "meat" if I can? This week I have had shop bought (Waitrose) Lasagne and Cottage Pie. And going to buy eggs every week - farmers wife comes round and sells fresh farm free range eggs.Might even buy Beef Mince next week and make my own burgers to cook on George ( I call it Formby) them grill thing's!
