Hi

I have been to got my eye lasered twice this year due to diabetic retinopathy, but after the second laser this time around, I realise that the floaters or burn marks will not face away.

However, what scares me is that, for the past 2 days my vision has been blurred out completely and seem to getting worst and my doctors appointment is on the comin 3 days.

Its already been a month since my laser.

I have contacted my doctor and he jst asked me to come in during the appointment in the coming 3 days as he suspect its might be another bleed

Anyone has experience this before? A sudden blurred out vision totally?

Worried and hope someone can share theirs experiences with me if they have encountered this situation as such

Thanks

Welcome to the forum.

Hi, pop down to your optician and they will probably have a look. They also have details of who to contact if they think you need to see someone. Did you get any contact details when you had the laser treatment done? Our local hospital does weekend clinics so there is usually someone around. Both my dad and I have had the treatment and he did have to have a 2nd session fairly soon after one when he had problems.

Hi, Thanks for your reply.

Will do so, however it is jst worrying whether the visoon will be lost if I had seen a doctor a bit later than today?

As this only happened a month after the second laser only, however my doctor doesnt seem to worry too much and jst ask me to see him in the coming appointment

Hello I am new in the country. I am doing 5 months here. I am type 1 diabetic and I have laser treated retinopathy. I need to do a checkup but I do not know any specialized ophthalmologist in the retina here in London. could you give me some recommendation please? thank you very much!

Your best bet would be to go to King's College Hospital, with world class diabetologists and ophthalmologists who specialise in diabetes. I moved away from there in 2000 and now live over 90 miles away, so I cannot recommend a named person. The hospital is in Denmark Hill, Camberwell, about 4 miles south of Waterloo Station. Although you are not registered, I would hope they would at least help you in the right direction. I owe my life to them! I wish you the very best of luck and an enjoyable stay in the UK.
