Liars, Cats,
My son, T!, discovered recently through his university that he could apply for the above allowance from Student Finance.

Has anyone else on here applied for it and been successful?

My son is studying an IT degree and still living at home.

When I was at uni a couple of years ago I was told that you only qualify if your diabetes has had long term adverse effects - blindness/nerve damage- that then classify you as "disabled". Although you are covered by what used to be the DDA, diabetes isn't classed as a disability unless complications have arisen. Things may have changed, but this is what I was told in 2012, :/

People who interrupt you when you're talking and people who won't listen.
I did get DSA at uni but not for diabetes. It's a pretty bewildering process but the end result is worth it if you can get the support you need to do well on a course.
