It depends on your type. As a T1 I'm insulin dependant and test a MINIMUM 4 times a day (get up, pre lunch, pre dinner, pre bed) but it is usually 5 or 6 as I also have to test before I drive. Every time.

I'm T1 and I would never inject insulin without checking my sugar first.

I'm usually around 6 times a day.
As stated above if you are a type 1 it is normally a minimum of 4 times a day.

People that can't listen to other people's opinions.
People that can't say sorry.
It depends upon lifestyle and insulin.

I always test before driving, so this alone canbe up to 6 times a day, also depends on length of journey.

Then I also do basal testing that canbe a period of 5 hourly testing.

Or I can be on my computers at home and do just eating before and after.

Or I can be hard physically working and I'll do probably every hour...

Mine's at least 10 a day, and I also test during the night too.

Anyone who asks a question about diabetes without thinking what they're asking.
I inject insulin everytime I eat, and I NEVER inject the medicine, with the narrowist theraputic range of all without testing. I eat 7 times a day. I test before bed to make sure I'm not heading low, Before and after exercise, when driving, If I feel off. A few more times if I have a hypo. I use close on 300 strips a month, so about 10 times a day.

Depends on how stable your blood glucose is really - e.g. you can see your BG every day, and if you can see that pre-meal readings are always ok if post-meal readings were ok then you don't absolutely have to do both tests every day.

`Hi
I've been with my partner for 5 months and he injects 4 times a day. He already has a toe amputated due to an infected ulcer and a diagnosis of Charcot foot. He tests his blood.......never.
Any ideas how I can get him to look after himself better without appearing to nag?

If a loss of a toe isn't going to shock him into looking after himself better I expect anything you say will not have much impact. It is something he will need to do for himself and all you can do is provide support/encouragement

I wish you luck - maybe you can talk about reducing carb levels for you both but he will have to be a willing participant as his insulin levels will need adjusting. Have you got him looking at the site and discussing his condition. Talking about it is the first step and maybe he is just scared.

Not sure if he is a member. He was diagnosed with diabetes aged 15. He's now 45. Going away this weekend. Will have a good chat with him then.
