Morning all

In January I was presented with my blood glucose monitoring pack containing monitor, lancets, strips and home monitoring diary by the DN at the hospital. I've now completed the diary and went online to buy a new one, only to find that they are supplied free of charge, along with a number of other glucose testing items.

I ordered the replacement diary which was free of charge, including free postage, and it has arrived. I don't know how long this will last but, here's the link in case its helpful to anyone else: https://www.diabetesmatters.co.uk/ordering

Apologies if I'm preaching to the converted :)

All the bg meter company's supply diary's, battery's and control solution free of charge as for as long as you use their meter, so no worries there about how long it will last.

some companies are no longer supplying batteries for their meters because in their

Abbott's no longer supply batteries because of post office regs, even buying from other places also carry the warning that they are due to postal regs unable to send by Royal Mail and now charge for a courier. But still provide free diary's and solutions.

I got my once every 3 months free batteries and control solution from Accu Chek the other day. No charges. No problems.

Lucky you, thinking maybe if dr wants to change meter like he has my needles it may be good thing, but knowing my luck I'd get some obscure Chinese jobby that only runs on gas

If my memory serves me ( I am getting on) 7 years for retirement. Abbott, supplies come from Ireland and it's the batteries that cause the problem because of the air freight regulations that royal mail have to abide with

I don't see the point in keeping a diary unless i'd be on a course or regularly in touch with doctor/specialist nurse or if i'd been told to.

It is my choice though either way, since I am not comfortable with recording blood glucose on a booklet let alone I only ever test a few times a month whenever I am completely unsure of my glucose.
