Tell him he is not on his own and that it is more common than people think, although male pride stops us from admitting it. It is one of those problems that men with diabetes have to deal with, I suggest he talks to his GP and asks for a referal to an Erectile Dysfunction clinic, most of them are very helpful and can advise on a wide range of treatments which can help

Tell him it is treatable but it may take time to find the most suitable treatment for him, so it may take a few appointments but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

It is quite treatable but "fixable" I am not so sure! There are so many things that can contribute to ED its knowing where to start. The guys above are correct and a visit to the GP is recommended. Your friend should also consider having diabetes does not guarantee being the main cause. Stress can be a major cause and that can stem from anywhere like work, relationship or even performance. When it happens its quite a downward spiral as it feeds the stress in a negative way. a non chemical help can be as simple as better bedroom communications.

When you say he is "relatively stable" does this mean he is down near non-diabetic levels or that he has just stopped spiking after meals and getting high fasting readings all the time? Reducing BG levels to near non-diabetic can help to reverse a lot of the side effects.

Also, depends on age - older non-diabetics can have similar problems.

His GP will be very familiar with the issue and that is the first place to go for advice.

Cheers

I would have thought Viagra or Ciallis would be worth a try and can be precribed
