My husband has Type 2 Diabetes and over the last four months or so he keeps having blackouts which are brief but if standing, or sitting in some chairs he will fall on the floor and has hurt himself on occasions. The blackout only lasts about 20 seconds. He is not having a 'low', so if it isn't a low, what is it and could it relate to his diabetes or something else? Please help.

Thank you all for your replies. Could he have this problem with a 'high' reading. Yesterday his reading was 12. He was eating his lunch at the time when he blacked out. He has had a brain scan which didn't show any problems. We have only just started taking a reading after he has these attacks which occur about every two weeks.

This doesn't sound anything to do with diabetes so you must see the GP to find out what it is
