Had my first Hypo last night
Been using bolus at a ratio of 1/15 and this had been working great for 2 days last night had a 90g carb dinner with 6 units of insulin
Readings before dinner was 7.5
2 hours after dinner had dropped to 4.3, at this point I was a little concerned so had a small chocolate muffin with 26g carbs in, took no insulin with this snack with the idea that it should raise my blood sugars?
1/2 an hour later I was pouring with sweat, had the shakes and my breathing was laboured!!!, guess thats a hypo then!
Took 200ml of pepsi and 10 minutes later felt fine, had 1 unit of insulin and a couple of hobnonbs, rechecked levels at 9.9 before bed
Any ideas why my bs would have dropped when my insulin matched my carb intake?

It's always good to get the first one out of the way, no matter how uncomfortable and inconvenient it may be.

As your newly diagnosed your in what they call the Diabetic Honeymoon Period, there's an explanation about it in the following although there's many more on the net:

http://www.diabetes.co.uk/blood-glucose/honeymoon-phase.html

Perhaps tonight try reducing your dose and work on a 1/20 1/25 ratio and see how you get on, insulin ratio's are never set in stone and do change from time to time so you need to keep this in mind, also if your active in the evening you need to take this into consideration when working out your insulin.

I'm not sure if you've seen this site, but it's an on-line version of the DAFNE course:
