Well done! Keep up the good work, I'm sure you will, there's no greater incentive.

For anyone reading this, who has just been told that they have proliferative retinopathy, Hooked's case is not an isolated or unusual one. James had proliferative retinopathy in one eye, a year ago, with similar warnings and needed laser. We have recently been told that it has "regressed" to "pre-proliferative", due to a low carb diet and normal blood sugars being maintained throughout the period. Interestingly, the consultant told us that he sees people from time to time who have clear evidence of old diabetic eye damage, having never been aware that they were diabetic, but admitting to having had a period of obesity in their lives.

Excellent news Hooked and so pleased that you've come to the end of your laser sessions, retinopathy is a horrible condition and causes nothing but worry, good luck and hope you remain trouble-free.

Happy for you, m'friend- VERY happy!

My right eye finally stabilised last year- after a dozen sessions or so :-/

The left eye is still being lasered @3 monthly... :-(
