Very annoying, if it's the Dr's fault why is it going to take 6 months+ to get your licence renewed, seems very unfair that you should suffer for someone else's mistake.

Hi, Templier,
This is stupid what your going through.
You have probably gone through the usual channels (Customer Complaint Resolution Team ) followed by (Chief Executive complaint review). Now many HGV drivers have to complete Periodic Training.

Best of luck and hope all is resolved asap.

It seems rather unfair that you should go through all the procedures again due to the fault of the Dr not filling in the form correctly, have the DVLA acknowledged that it was the Dr's mistake?

As izzi says, take your complaint up with them and ask why ou need to see these Dr's again through no fault of your own.

Hi to all,
I already have my CPC Training cert, this is valid until 2019 this is form of trianing for HGV dirvers which has to be done in 5 , 8 hour parts to say that you are competent to drive (the first 2 parts were in a class room the teacher who was 20, you have to be 21 to get an HGV theses are the rules abide by them or don't work).
Now to get my licence back I have to reapliy to DVLA and start all over again on meddical forms which DVLA have to post to me, they were reqused 11 days ago still waiting

Just think, driver cpc trinning costs £75 per 8 hour day x5 =£375 + loss of ernings for 5 days and every HGV driver in the uk has go to do it or be band of the road. were's all the money go?
As some people will know I have just had my app pack from DVLA and with the forms I had to down load 34 pages have just been sent to reaply for my licence( 8/9/14) lets see how long it takes them to send them back to fill in again but this time my Dr has to sign and not me( they are the same forms)

People that can't listen to other people's opinions.
People that can't say sorry.
Salaries dropped for distribution drivers.... Perhaps that a reason why there a shortage? Also depends where you live...a lot of our driver jobs are now taken up by non native british persons and this has enabled the distribution companies to cut the wages paid. Therefore less enthusiasm for jobs in driving.
