So - getting one of the systems here is very expensive. and i was thinking maybe i could purchase on line... any ideas?

I'm the same boat. I looked into it and you can buy one online at full price, and then you'd have to buy all the sensors and transmitters and anything else you need.
If you have the cash then of course it's possible, but was way to much money for my budget.

Before jumping in, I'd ask the question, what do you want it for? While products like the Dexcom are very expensive to get set up with, you may be better looking at the Freestyle libre (which many of us have found to have provided a great amount of insight), but the question you need to answer is what is the main purpose?
