you can live happily on one kidney, so it isn't a 'worry' but it is something to take on board and work your lifestyle to help

Hope your review went well,I am sure the nurse will be able to guide you,I know it's not the same my dog was born with one kidney and we never found out until last year when he needed a scan lived a normal and greedy life.

thank you all for nice info my cho was 5.2 she wants me to take a statin to get it lower
i thought 5.2 was in the average area im 75 yrs old i think i should not be too worried about it
.bs about 7.5 a bit too high i think
not easy to lower it down

5.2 is fine in my opinion, but I'm not a doctor. However, what you need to know before you make a decision on statins is the actual lipid breakdown (HDL, LDL, and triglycerides) The total cholesterol is meaningless taken on its own. Ask your nurse/doctor for the breakdown.

Your BS is a bit high at 7.5. Perhaps you should consider reducing your carbohydrate consumption a bit more? It is carbs that raise our levels every bit as much as sugar.

Your gp and diabetes care team will monitor your progress from here on so try not to worry too much, they may start you on an Ace Inhibitor as these drugs are said to help slow down kidney disease, just be sure to attend all your appointments so they can keep an eye on things. Good luck.
