Hello yet again (!)

I was wondering if anyone knows where I can find the glycaemic index online - or, if that isn't available, if anyone uses a hard copy which they find useful. I can't find anything through an online search.
I know from talking to all you experienced guys that managing our foods is an individual thing, but I'd like to get a better handle on it.

Thank you all,

BeeGee

I do not have diabetes
I used to have a NHS pamphlet showing GI index. If you google NHS it should be somewhere on their dietary recommendations.

Low GI/GL was an excellent way for me, I'm eating (low GI) dinner now, so I will post up later, if you can bear with me.
So long as you test, and eat to your meter, there is no issue with it.

That is definitely a good one.
Other tables are
http://www.weightlossresources.co.uk/diet/gi_diet/glycaemic_index_tables.htm
http://www.whfoods.com/genpage.php?tname=faq&dbid=32
http://www.glycemicindex.com/

An explanation is
http://www.diabetes.org.uk/Guide-to...yel_dOSZs1V5696HGvEbgW0BbC9XxUzfLtRoCLIHw_wcB

which also discusses the effects of fat.
I went low fat, so personally, that didn't apply to me, as I counted calories instead, but if you can balance the entire meal, it's worth knowing.

The University of Sidney is a good on-line source, for reading any book by Rick Gallop and Dr Jennie Brand-Millar are very informative.

I like the glycemic index because a Snickers bar is lower on the scale than whole wheat bread. Yum!

Many years ago (way before I was diagnosed diabetic) I purchased a book called GI & GL counter by Dr Wynnie Chan. I believe it is still available and I use it as a "shopping guide" or when I want to check a foods rating.

Well, if you can manage them, that's good, probably both too high a GI for most of us though, that's why the index works so well.
