Me too - respect.

What have I done - I won a Blue Peter badge for a photo competition; at 10 I sat on Patrick Moore's knee during a visit by several of us from school interested in astronomy and his mum served us tea and cakes; in my early 20s I was stood next to George Best having a slash in the gents at Gatwick airport; I showed Simon Callow how to use a fax machine in an airline lounge at Heathrow; I've spoken in Spanish at the equivalent of a parliamentary committee (televised) in Lima, Peru attended by Susana Fujimori, ex wife of the disgraced former president. All fairly trivial things, and no doubt like others there are plenty of "I knew so-and-so's cousin's friend's flatmate" type stories.
Patrick Moore - what a lovely man! Afriend wrote to him because my sone was interested in astronomy and he wrote back with a phone number and said to ring and arrange a date. He gave Tom a signed book and let him use the telescope in his back garden.

I hung out with the Bay City Rollers whilst waiting for their plane to arrive. I used to work for Dan Air at Bournemouth Airport and had the privilege of escorting them to a holding area where we chatted for some while before they took off. Still got their autographs, scribbled on an old reservations card.

I once appeared on the Telly, on a Southern TV (showing my age) programme in a series about boating.

It was a feature about getting kids into sailing, and my Dad was one of the programme's presenters so, being cheapskates, the production company told him to bring his kids along with their dinghy (an Optimist, which is what most kids still learn to sail in), to show the audience what it's like. There was a bit of chat about types of boat, local sailing clubs and the like, and then we got into the dinghy and sailed off on a rather manky stretch of the River Itchen in Southampton, next to the studios. Strangely, we missed out on a BAFTA nomination :)

Don't have any famous friends, but I met James May at a party last summer - friends of ours were at Lancaster Uni with him and he is Godfather to their daughter and still a close friend of theirs. What a nice bloke.

Mine are quite pitiful in comparison to all of yours! Shook Bill Clinton's hand at a reception party. Wrote to Sir Steve Radcliffe on behalf of my diabetic daughter and she got a lovely reply from him

Have attached not sure if you will be able to see it but hopefully you can. About to take part in an amateur drama society play in my local hall where I get drunk, strip to my underwear and kiss a parent from my school so I think I might be famous after that!
