Glucophage SR

I went to collect my prescription today for Glucophage SR and was told they were unavailable at present and will hopefully be back in mid January has anyone else encountered this problem

Well I collected my Metformin SR from my local Lloyds earlier this week. Note that my prescription is generic i.e. allows any Metformin SR make. It may be that Glucophage SR is in short supply (it's a branded version). Ask Loyds whether they have any generics in stock and if so get the surgery to issue a new prescription for generic

Lloyds did say they could not give me a generic version as it says Glucophage SR on my prescription and if I get short I will have to return to surgery and get a generic prescription. Just wonders if there was a reason why there were non available
