Can Novorapid make you emotional??

Hi

I'm a long standing MODY patient, diagnosed for 15 years. Controlled largely through diet with small amount of Gliclazide. My HbA1C has been under 6.3 for three years.

I'm trying to conceive and have now been changed to Novorapid, as Gliclazide can't be used in pregnancy. I take 2-4 units with each meal, depending on carb content.

Four weeks in and my control is okay - I'm learning through trial and error. But despite fairly consistent sugars, since beginning to take it I cry at literally anything and everything - which is completely out of character. Has anyone else experienced this? Does it wear off? I feel a bit like I'm going slowly mad...

Ps I'm definitely not currently pregnant, and am not feeling emotional about trying to conceive...

Any help appreciated.

Hello, I take NovoRapid but never associated it with feeling down. I, personally wouldn't of thought so.
Maybe it's because you are trying to conceive and now that you have been put on 'Insulin' it is unconsiously making you feel a little down ?
If you are concerned then it's always best to have a word with your \GP, DSN or Diabetes specialist.

Good luck and all thebest.

Hi. It would be very unusual for NovoRapid to cause emotional problems so I would continue to use it and view it positively.
