Worst Christmas present

Just a thought.... but are we just sounding a bit grumpy and ungrateful for these duff presents? After all it's the thought that counts, but I sometimes wonder how much thought goes in ha ha ;)

My hubby has 'always' worn a short cropped beard since
he was at university (over 40years ago)
Every year the same aunt would buy him an after shave gift box :eek:o_O

She never twigged he as a guy with short designer beard - never
ever used aftershave .
Body spray and deodorant yes - but aftershave is a 'never' ever .

We kept telling her - yet boxes of brut every **** year !!! o_O

I do not have diabetes
My MiL has a knack of giving awful presents, then every now and then a good one, a cheap polo shirt that is either too big or small, then a collectible!
Heaven knows what this years is!

If you thank her enough she will, perhaps, buy you a cheap polo shirt every year.

My MIL is very... er... caring to small children and furry animals.
I think this is a good quality, but it can be taken to excess.
Individual Xmas presents to the cat, the dog and the goldfish could be interpreted as taking things a fraction too far. She is a lovely woman, so I am choosing my words carefully!

Anyway, two years ago, she asked what I would like for Xmas. And I mentioned 3 things (scented candle, gift voucher or a book, all of which I knew she could source, and were reasonably priced).

I was given a cushion, with a bad painting of a cat on it. The cat looks either constipated or grumpy, depending on the light. I try to keep it in the dark.

The cat, dog and goldfish always get exactly what they ask for... ;)

For anyone without one of these gadgets put a blob of blue tac over the keyhole it won't freeze and neither will the car door.
How about we have a thread on THE BEST EVER CHRISTMAS PRESENT

Yes, someone gave me a bag of Thorntons diabetic chocs. I only ate one a day but the effects were unfortunate to put it politely (can't find an emoticon for sitting on loo  )

An aunt once gave me a toilet roll holder and one of those little wooly carpets some people put in front of the toilet. At her funeral a few years later the eulogy written by her husband mentioned that many of us would have been recipients of her well thought out presents. Maybe I was an exception.

Mr Chris also has a short beard but he still wears aftershave - every day. His favourite was a Crabtree & Evelyn Patchouli (old hippy) but theyve not done it for years, so at the moment he's on the Eau Savage.

Oho ooh. I looooove Eau Sauvage!
My first boyfriend had it.
Didn't suit him at all.
I used to sniff it straight from the bottle when he was out of the room.
10 mins after it touched his skin it went flat and dull.

Ah, love it.

I think Santa is having a laugh.
A live duck with clipped wings so it can't fly has just been found in my son's completely enclosed garden.
It is completely tame and follows him round quacking as if to say 'are you my new human friend, can I have some food please'?
I told him it would make a good lunch for Christmas day but that committed carnivore wouldn't dream of cooking it of course.
He is out there in the pouring rain making it a temporary shelter and will call the RSPCA tomorrow.
Thanks Santa
