We were talking about feet ..... ;)

Mine have the sensation of having flour between the toes. Still, I have an appointment with the diabetologist in February so she will probably know what it is.

That sounds interesting you shall have to let us all know how you get on,and what is involved.
I don't have the feeling of crystals when walking on mine.
Goodluck.

Could be different in Switzerland. She does everything - checks feet, blood pressure, readings which I have taken in the last 3 months since I saw her last, my weight, HbA1c and my other yearly blood tests including cholesterol. She is classed as a specialist. It is she who prescribes all my medication too. She is also an endocrinologist. Her husband is a GP.

Hi Snowy,,hope today is treating you well. I have my review at the Hospital Diabetes Clinic on Monday. I am going to ask for a referral to a Neurologist and a Pain Clinic. If they don't I will become an A&E pest and they will do something to get me out of their hair. Not that I want to do that but I've learned the hard way that's how to get action. Hope your tootsies n stuff are just chipper lol. Mines are not so bad at the mo but dread bedtime.

Evening eddie168, when I was experiencing foot neuralgia quite badly , that's when ii looked for and found this gt forum, having lost 34 lbs since early sept' and learned about the importance of eating lchf to a meter, my neuropathy in my feet has all but abated, my bs are generally in the low 5's these days, but I'm under no doubts that if I go back to my old ways of eating it would return with a vengeance.as shecat said the lower end of normal is where we need to be for our bs's.
I do hope you get some help and relief ::)))

As someone who suffers from peripheral neuropathy, due to having hearing loss in one ear and tinnitus in the other, plus loss of feeling in my feet. I think the first message I can give to anyone is keep positive, some days will be better than others but on a bad day focus on something you hold dear to you, secondly at the first sign of pain in your feet get professional advice don't wait , because it's something that can catch you out if left.I have problems with my balance and now walk with a rollator, unknown to my self I was having problems with my balance especially at work ,I put it down to my age and just being clumsy, it took me about 4 years before I realised it was more than being clumsy, and now I am where I am regarding my mobility. So please don't hesitate getting help.

Hi Eddie all good today doing a bit of blinging and decorating my glucose tester.
Definately get your doctor/nurse to refer you,it is there job to send you to people who know what you are talking about.
Just ordered some explorer socks merino wool, they are in the sale at under £5.00 from go outdoors,Mike suggested them so worth giving them ago.
Hope you have had a good day.

Please forgive a dumb question but my readings are all cool despite being Type 2, all within the realms of "normal" etc., so why do the feet still tingle?

It has been noted that the nerve damage is painful when occurring , and even when the nerves are coming back to life they hurt, hope that makes sense..i suffered badly from neuropathy to my feet and it was like walking on broken bones , even after I got my bs's to a normal level, it still took weeks for the pain to subside ....but it did :::)))

UPDATE ON THE Memory foam insoles.
They seem to have eased the feeling of crumpled up socks under my feet when walking, but not the cold toes which I get when I have shoes on & walking, still 1 out of 2 is good stuff. Just need to sort the toes out now, Grrrrrr

Hello, I just signed up because I stumbled across this thread. I have type 2 and also dilated cardiomyopathy, I'm wondering if anyone's feet ever feel like they are swollen?
I have had a "pin" test and have been told my feet are fine as I felt each time the DN "pricked" me. Also she tested my circulation by using a stethoscope. However, I still have numb feet, they sometimes feel very swollen, mostly when I lay down in bed. This can come and go, some days are worse than others and I'm wondering if my problem is not solely to do with diabetes.
I have lost 5 stone in 7 months. hba1c is 30, BS rarely over 7 2 hours after meals, normally 5.6-6.5. cholesterol is 3, fasting BS 5.9
I take:
Metformin 500mg twice a day
Bisoprolol 5mg once a day
Ramipril 3.75mg twice a day
Atorvastatin 10mg once a day
Oh, and I was diagnosed in May this year.

Just one more thing, does anyone "let go" over Christmas, even just for the day? I always feel like people notice I eat differently now, it's probably my own paranoia(which I haven't be diagnosed with btw lol) but just wondered what you do/feel at this time of the year.
Thanks.
