Advice needed - insulin and epic challenge!

Hello

18 months ago I completed the London Moon walk marathon for breast cancer causes. At that point I was on Bydureon for type 2. Since then I've lost a 2nd aunt/Godmother to ovarian cancer and have signed up for a 100km walk to raise funds for Target Ovarian Cancer. All the generation below mine are female and have this horrible legacy.....

I'm now on insulin, not especially high amounts, but I'm looking for advice when I start my training in January.

I go to the gym a couple of times a week but will now be walking in between times too. My best time for training in the week is between 6 and 8 am. Assume I should be eating something before walking or the gym?

Does anyone have experience of long-distance walking on insulin? Any advice would be great.

Thanks
Sue
