Spiders, control freaks, untidiness, ignorance.
The options are almost limitless - cooked, crispy bacon. Using cooked chipolata or crispy chorizo to dip into the Camenbert "fondue" pot.
Thanks for the ideas. Having never tried baked camenbert before, I have now been immersed into a whole new world of delicious oozy cheese heaven! Am still salivating from my experience now, must stop thinking about gooey cheese :hungry:

I LOVE the taste of Bolognese with the tomatoey meaty sauce and cheese all well mingled.... But there IS a paste actually called umami too?
Tescos sell an own brand umami paste in a wee jar. It's like marmite, you don't need much!

I think there is a Sainsbury's version too, and then the classic Taste #5 umami from Waitrose.

thanks I'll look out for it. I'll try Sainsbury's. It my "corner shop" literally. But not one of their biggest stores. They extended it the reduced size of food section.....but big enuf for me. ;)

I've noticed some people seem to eat such a lot and some so very little, yet am guessing all are keeping their bs in check all the same. It's surprising how much you CAN eat with minimum impact if its the RIGHT food. I lost my 2lbs after eating more but less carbs (and I'm sure more calories too). Anyways, today:
Slice of well buttered toast. Was last of loaf and must've been thicker than usual so went up to 7.1 - from 5.4 oops but still ok
Lunch, same as last nites tea - suet crust topped "breakfast slab" - can't recall numbers but 0.3 DROP post from pre
Pre tea 6.8 (***) then remembered had more than a couple of swings apple juice to take my pills.
Tea large lightly battered cod with just a few chips - still full from lunchtime. 5.4 2:45 post
Enjoying BIG mug hot chocolate - well cocoa made with soya milk.

B: last slice of slab and coffeencream
L: hummus, 9 bar, 500 ml green smoothie
D: minted lamb mince and onion, 500ml green smoothie
S: 2 peanut butter cookies ea topped with a square of 70% choc

Interestingly, I have fallen seamlessly back into my old green smoothie habits. Basically eating protein sources and dropping cooked veg in favour of raw fruit and veg in the smoothies. Win win situ. Even more fruit n veg, raw, so more nutritious, and almost all the rest of the diet consisting of meat, nuts and seeds. Maybe 60% raw by volume. I think 80% raw would be optimum, but I'd have to find room for a salad in there too. Breakfast salad? No, I have some limits!

My cheese/cream intake has dropped too. I don't like saying that is a good thing (staunch LCer that I am), but a bit of a break is good for anything, isn't it?

Diabetes and ulcerative colitis.... :) Rude people... Violence.... and the amount of time I spend away from my beautiful family in the UK...
Tonight I made pineapple ice cream with blueberries. Easy. Little pot of pineapple chunks. Unsweetened. Hand full blueberries and double cream. Whiz in processor or with hand blender with 3 ice cubes...bliss. eat or freeze. Next to no carbs. Lush
That sounds lovely.... the banana one is nice too, but lots of sugar I suppose....

Yes I'd like to know what the book is like, as my wife has suffered with thyroid for over 20yrs now, she diagnosed herself in the begining as the so called Dr, just put everything down to her way of life, within 3 days of him testing her she was seeing a specialist & put on meds as she was very hyperthyroid, then she had another test a short while after starting the meds to see how things were doing & the dumbass Dr read the results wrong & changed one of her meds & boom that's when it all went **** up, (excuse the French) when she saw the specialist he went totally ape as what the Dr had done by doing what he did totally shocked her nervous system & he wrote & gave the Dr a good blasting. then she had the radioactive iodine & that knocked the thyroid out over time & is on thyroxine now, but the after the nervous system shock she has suffered ever since & life can be hell at time, so a good book on the subject maybe a great help as she can never seem to get the support she needs.
That's awful, poor lady.... I seems to happen a lot... my doctor, who was normally brilliant, told me it must the menopause and put me on HRT... my goodness, what a mess that made for a while... my friend's doctor diagnosed her correctly but then put her on a really high dose straight away - turned her hyper and she's been ill ever since, for years and years... I will post some stuff from the book if it's as good as they say it is... I would dearly love some relief from cracked skin and hair falling...

Sounds lovely. I may give that a whirl when my tongue returns to normal. No decaff in Costa today so I bought a green tea to go. It was so hot I scalded my tongue with the first sip.
ahhh, horrid... nothing helps, either... :(
