Mine initially came down from 8 to 6.2 on LCHF then stayed at 6.2. Doc wanted me to have statins when it didn't come down further but my understanding is that it's ok to have cholesterol between 4-7 so I said no to statins this time. Sure he ll try persuading me again though. It's a tricky one.

I have heard of people whose cholesterol have risen slightly on LCHF but in those cases it is mainly the HDL that has gone up and that is good stuff. I have also heard people say cholesterol can go up because of your own fat metabolism working overtime when you loose a lot of weight in a short time on LCHF. I don't know. My cholesterol is close to perfect with very low triglycerides and HDL at 2.

Good results would be higher HDL, lower LDL, and lower triglycerides compared to your previous results.

Provided you've kept your carb intake low, these numbers should improve.

Yep, it's really good info BT :)

Hi Turvell, yep, there's room for improvement. They can be turned around very quickly. I went from bad (REALLY bad) to excellent on all readings in twelve weeks.
