Dunno. Strange question.
Does anyone have any problem with nerve damage in feet? Any idea what it feels like? I'm having some sort of problem in my feet - about to see the dr. tomorrow. Quite worried about it.

I have what I believe is neuropathy in my left heel. The pain there feels like a stabbing pain, or sometimes just soreness.

I do have post-herepetic neuropathy in my right thigh thanks to a bout of shingles. It feels really weird. Sometimes it feels like I'm being stabbed with a sharp pin, sometimes like someone has just poured a cup of ice cold water on me, sometimes just a sudden, stabbing pain. There's also tingling and numbness. FWIW, I was once prescribed gabapentin for this; the side effects were quite awful and certainly not worth the miniscule relief it provided.

Hopefully your doctor can help you sort things out.

My feet feel as if cotton wool or something else soft was stuffed under my toes. Sometimes one of my big toes is painful for a short time. The GP and DN are not interested since these symptoms aren't on their check list for neuropathy. It doesn't affect my balance and has been the same for over a year so I don't bother with it either.

That is EXACTLY the feeling I have. I'm trying to decide if it is Morton's neuroma, which is a very difficult condition to reverse - or diabetic neuropathy. At any rate, it's really concerning me.

That explains perfectly someting I've been feeling for a few months now. I have so many problems with my feet it's hard to tell the difference sometimes between possible diabetic problems and the palmoplantar putulosis and psoriatic arthritis I've had for a few years.
I had my diabetic foot check last week and pulse and the little needle prick thing were all normal, so she wasn't bothered about anything else.

That's interesting, I've never heard of it so looked it up. Found this:
"Some experts believe that a number of other foot problems, including flat feet, high foot arches, bunions and hammer toes, may also play a role in Morton's neuroma."
I have all those except the bunions, thank the gods! But maybe time to see a podiatrist!

Okay. I saw the doctor and am being referred for an ultrasound on both feet, as one is particularly bad, and the other shows signs of a similar problem. At the outset, he stated that the top of the feet for Morton's neuroma usually hurt also, and my left foot does. But he said it usually hurt more than it did. Frankly, it hurts enough. Surgery is the answer to this, apparently. It's like a calloused nerve that's blown up. I hope it's not that, but as for diabetic neuropathy...I've only had diabetes for 3.5 years, so he says it's too early for neuropathy. So...there we go. That's what I know.

Well at least your Dr has had the good sense to refer you for an ultrasound, good luck and hope whatever treatment you receive it goes well and helps with the problem.

Well done for persisting with your gp and getting a referral. Hopefully it will lead to a good outcome, although the condition sounds unpleasant.

Hope you don't have wait too long to get the scan, nothing worse than painful feet!

D'you'know...this has to be the nicest forum I have ever been on. Thank you, all. I have been quite upset and concerned about this. Either way, it's been unpleasant. I hope it gets managed expeditiously, too.

If Morton's neuroma, it can be extremely painful. My wife had an operation on "both" feet for same; fine now. She's not diabetic!

Hiya @suebrook and welcome to the forum. If you start a thread of your own maybe under the T2 section I'm sure people will come to your aid if you want to lose weight and control your diabetes generally.
