Who is this please? My girlfriend loves it!
Assuming you're referring to the video I posted, it's The Table, who were a one-hit wonder in the Seventies (well, to be honest, they didn't even have a hit, but this track has a small, discerning and rather tragic cult following from people like me). There's a bit more info on them in Wikipedia, here.

I read about the track in the NME (it was their single of the week), and bought it on 7" vinyl in consequence - I still have it, it's tattered and scratched now, but I cherish it nevertheless. Great song.

On a whim, I looked at the OP of this thread just now and I see that the poster seemed to be making a request for suggestions for violin or guitar based instrumental music, so I'm not sure I've been of any help, really. There was also mention of music by unknowns, or relative unknowns however and I think I can safely say that The Table (as mentioned above) safely qualify for that, as do Airhead (below), arguably. Mind you, Annie Nightingale was/is very fond of this track, and used to play it on Radio 1, so I guess that's verging on fame :)

If you want violin and guitar based instrumentals, it has to be Reinhardt and Grappelli.

The only type of jazz I can listen to. Django was an amazing player . Can't stand the jazz where they all play a different tune at the same time. Mr Chris tells me it's improvisation. When he was a mature student on a jazz diploma I had to go along once a week and listen to him play with his fellow students. I used to get told off as he could see me looking at my watch while everyone did a solo bit. :banghead:
