Yes very similar, the thickness on mine is really bad, I only went to the chiropodist a few days ago, looking at them today you wouldn't think so, I've lost count of how many splits there are on both. To make life bearable today I've smothered them in cream and wrapped them in bandages.

May be but if you don't try things you can never know if it works, even if it relives some of the effects it has to be better than allowing the chemicals of commercial products that most times have very little effect if any.

I really feel for you, I remember that pain well. It seems PPP is at its worse when it first starts until you and your derm team find something that helps you. Mine isn't nearly as bad as it used to be, although that's not much help to you right now, but you will find something that helps. It might be worth telling your doctor exactly how it's affecting you and asking for an emergency appointment. Or maybe if you simply can't walk for the pain can someone drive you to A&E, that might be a quicker way of getting some relief.
By the way, how long have you been diabetic? My diabetes and PPP started at the same time and apparently there can be a connection between the two.

I went to A&E yesterday doctor was ignorant and rude and only aware I was suffering with my feet (think the hobbling indicated just how bad it was) but before I could get my boots off he said " that footwear isn't helping" to which I replied " my feet are that swollen it's the only thing that I can fit in at the moment" and then burst into tears, he just told me there is nothing they can do, so I need to go back to my doctor and just wait for an appointment like everyone else!

I've been diabetic about 8 months and my feet started about 4/5 months ago, from what I've read there is a connection.

That's terrible! Did they actually look at your feet? That's one of the problems about ppp, it's quite rare and so few medical people know about it and just don't understand how unbearably painful it can be.

Apart from the derm you could ask your doctor for a referral to the orthotics dept. They can make shoes especially for you, they made me some which did help a bit, they have insoles that are far better than anything we can buy and you really need something soft under your feet.

How are your BG levels? I've had high levels for a long time but started low-carbing 2 months ago, my levels have come down and I'm sure my feet have improved since then.

Not bad really at the moment, not been in double figures at all for a while now, highest I've been is 8.2.
My diet has really changed too, it's been that good I should be wearing a shiny halo!

I'm going to ring doctors tomorrow for an appointment, he did look at my feet but his negativity floored me, told him I'd had two months off work and it made no difference, work is difficult because I'm on my feet all the time, he said take more time off but bills don't pay themselves. I do use facebook and I looked for some pages but didn't find much but I shall look again. Thank you.

Have you mentioned this to your doctor? If you are having blood tests it might be worth having one for thyroid as well. An underactive thyroid can result in very dry skin.

Well I know that people will smile or go 'ugh'. When they read this. But it cured the same problems with my feet. I keenly believe in urine therapy. There is plenty of info on the Internet about it and also many books.
So how is it done topically?
Draw off some of your mid-stream urine, put it in a plastic clip-top box, collect enough to half fill it a couple of times.
Leave the old urine for two days. Dip your fingers in the old urine then massage your feet with the urine a couple of times of days, also before bed.
If there is a little odour with it, the moment it touches your skin that odour disappears and it just like spring water. Your urine is free, it cures hundreds of illnesses, internally and externally. It will do no harm. It just cures. Then if you are happy with the results, get down to it and read all about this wonderful therapy.

I have test for all sorts including thyroid, at the moment I'm on steroids and using buckets full of soft paraffin covered in cling film. Had a 6 hours round trip to purchase a uvb lamp, to see if that helps, I have also heard that urine helps it! Haven't tried yet!

That's what the urea ointment is, the chemical in the urine that can help.

I use Eucerrin 10% I have found it is the only cream that holds really dry skin at bay.

Have you considered paying to see the dermo privately? I've done this a couple of times, different specialists though. You can then get onto the NHS list, for treatment, a lot faster than waiting to see him through the NHS in the first place.

I did try looking up private but only came up with ones in London which is such a long way, if it meant a fair few visits, I travelled to London yesterday to pick up a uvb lamp and that was an utter nightmare, 6 hour round trip!

Looks like a from of Psoriasis which I get on my hands I am not aloud to use soap my Doctor prescribed me Hydromol bath & shower emollient , Dermol cream, Hydromol emollient ointment , Mometasone Furoate 0.1% w/w cream .. I have been to a consultant dermatologist who told me that may not ever clear up but may go as quick as it started pleased to say its now under full control it used to make palms of my hands bleed with deep like cuts like your feet also deformed my nails also made my skin peel the only thing I can say go to the Doctor for your skin to be sent for testing hope this of some help to you all the best
