I'm confused about what to do when I'm on the beer, Inject ? don't inject?

I typically play it by ear, but end up testing a lot.

I wouldn't say ignore it, and i wouldn't suggest any fixed amount of insulin per pint because everyones ratios are different, and every beer is different and cider, well that's usually WAY different.

I don't know what cider your drinking but a pint of Strongbow cider here in Canada has about 30g of carbs in it.
Darker beers, like Guinness is also up in the 15-20g of carbs range, and lagers i have found are down closer to 5-8g of carbs.

Tonight I have undertaken the experiment. Once again, the sample size is one. This, as always, is generally inconclusive. However, the starting point is here:

And this is the topple of choice, Meantime London Pale Ale at roughly 25g of carbs per pint.

After 1.5 pints we see this behavior....

And after two, this...

At which point I jab.

London Pale Ale. It's a type of IPA. And it does a great job of showing just how beer blows your bg out of the ground.

So, the jab was 5.5 units and my total consumption to this point is 3.5 pints. Notable is the evening out of the decline to a flat level.

On the way home we also grabbed a bag of chips, which I treated appropriately, which caused a slight deliberate increase, but given the way I find that basal insulin becomes more efficient after drinking, was fine. The bg level then reduced to a flat level overnight. The graph below shows the plot with a nice bit of an increase at the end which is the Basal expiring.

My head is telling me not to do this experiment again...

Watching this thread with interest, got a stag do coming up and that usually involves plenty of beer. I think I'll have to try this out - nice one tim
