Hi All, I have recently been diagnosed with LADA. My employer has insisted that I wear a bracelt. My question is do I need to have it engraved and if so with what?

Diabetes, know it alls
It would be helpful to have your name, type of diabetes and an emergency phone number to call engraved on it. That's what I have on mine.

I wear medic alert dog tags

One has my wifes emergency contact details of it - the other has my name, condition and I feel most importantly my NHS number -- with this they can see my whole medical history

If you're limited by space the minimum I'd put on a bracelet would be:

T2 diabetic - NHS # 123 345 5678

With this they can find your name, age, full condition details, address, medications & next-of-kin if any are listed on your notes

The dog tags I use are these :

You get two tags as standard but they can both be stamped with different information

Mine never come off - they're pretty indestructible :)

It is really good that your employer is looking out for you .
With their suggestion of a medical alert bracelet .

Like @June_C has suggested - an ICE (In case of emergency) contact number
your own name and medical conditions .

Then the hospital can look up your medical particular medical notes .
You can have engraved onto the bracelet .
Do remember to keep your bracelet or necklace on after any bath/shower .

I kept forgetting to replace mine .
Ended up in middle of morrisons 'hypo' severely without mine on .
Taught me a huge lesson too .

Got a permanent tattoo on my left lower wrist now .
Great permanent reference alert point .
Worry free with it completely now plus I don't need to remember
any bracelet or necklace after a shower .
