Hope it all goes well for you and you can go ahead with the ivf. My little grandaughter was born with this treatment, it worked first time and I hope you are as lucky just wanted to wish you good luck

I've had IVF and it worked first time :)

Before the IVF my HbA1C was around 5.3, I believe. That then came down during my pregnancy to 4.7.

Good control is very important, but so is staying healthy and relaxed. IVF is pretty stressful and quite taxing on the body. If you can get yourself healthy before you start, then that makes it easier. I also believe that my relaxation exercises played a big part in my success.

Good luck :)

I wasn't overweight either, but I did find some of the IVF drugs made me bloated or put on a few pounds. Not that I minded at all because it's very common and for an excellent cause, but it did surprise me because I usually find it hard to put weight on : D

I read everything I could about fertility. So much is beyond your control that it's nice to feel there are some little things you can do. For example, I increased my fat intake, eating salmon, avocados and olive oil, etc. I also read something that said women were more likely to get pregnant I'd they had full fat dairy, so I swapped to whole milk. I have no idea if any of those things contributed to my success, but they can't do any harm, and concentrating on little things like that can help you take your mind off the whole process.

I hope all go well with the nurse.

Hi
I've been reading your blog, as I have just had a failed IVF cycle. My hba1c was 6% (almost 7%) which was the highest it had been fir 3 and half years been trying. My levels did rise when on the ivf meds. I'm normally VERY sensitive to insulin and was on 150% basal and my "nornal" reads were 8.0! It just didn't want to budge any lower than that! It changed so rapidly.
I'm currently waiting to go through the next cycle of IVF and just looking for type 1's going through it to share the experience.
I 100% agree with azure to relax as much as you most possibly can.keep your mind calm and peaceful to help with stress!

Well done for getting your hba1c down! That's great.
Wish you the very best of luck!!

Hoping you'll get the results you need ☺ it is tough getting the hba1c there and keeping it there. Keep pushing it! You will get there.
Yes keep me updated. It's comforting to know that there are other type 1's going through ivf. There's very little info about it!

@Soapsuds86 Ah, here the lady is! I need my eyes tested!

Yes, a IVF is even harder if you also have to control your sugars too. It was like a full time job testing and keeping my levels down. But that's good practice for pregnancy. And thers's no reason why IVF shouldn't work in the future for you too. I'm not special and I worried that it wouldn't work all the time - but it did.

Just keep going, ladies. XX
