Blood test rant

Life has been horrible for me these past few years. The deaths of my dad, sister, cat and now my former mother in law. I suffer from ibs -d alongside with type 2 diabetes.
Next week I have an appointment, finally, with the diabetes doctor. I have seemed to have slipped through the cracks and forgotten in the local diabetes world.
I had a blood test last week. I checked my phone today and guess what? I have to get another blood test, something went wrong. The vampire only comes twice a week to my doctor's surgery and it's hard to get a quick appointment. Going to the hospital for one? The bus running directly to the hospital is one an hour. If I did go to the hospital I have to be there at the crack of dawn because there is always a huge line before the path lab opens and I mean a huge line.
Got news today that my family is stressing over my mother in New Jersey. She's 87 and not in the best of health.
So my ibs is flaring up.
Not happy camper.
Thank you for sticking with this if you have.

Acceptance of health treatment claims that are not adequately supported by evidence. I dislike it when people sell ineffective and even harmful alternative health products to exploit the desperation of people with chronic illness.
Sorry to hear. This is a good place to vent. I hope you get some good help from the specialist.

Hi @philosophersavant sounds like you've had a really tough time recently. Try to see your appointment as a new starting point. Get you diabetes sorted and it will help you to start feeling better - and it can only get better from then on. As for the blood test, try phoning the surgery Monday morning and explaining what's happened and that you need your results for you hospital appointment, they may just squish you in.
Good luck with it, take care and stick around! Xxxx

The retest on a recent blood test may be a problem with potassium levels. I had this happen to me, and it is simply that if there is a delay in getting the blood into a lab for analysis then potassium degrades in the sample. I used to get this when my vampire was fed after the last blood pickup at the surgery, and my poor sample had to fester overnight in the cold.. Boo hoo! All was well on the re-test in the morning. Hoping that this is all it is - it is common. I have a blood test this Wed, and there is a junior doctors strike going on that may affect the lab, so I may get re-call myself. Good Luck
