Not being able to like beer anymore!!
Hi there fella
You're posting in the low carb diet forum so I'm going to assume that you're looking for low carb answers....

I find that beer is completely off the menu for me. It's basically liquid bread and is full of carbs. It messes up my blood sugars and so I can't have it. And I used to love the stuff.

Happily, red wine comes to the rescue!! I can have that without too much problem. In fact I think it even reduces my blood sugars a bit.

I don't think I'd want that many eggs on a regular basis, but I'm not aware of any harm from it. Other posters here might know better

Eggs are not a problem!
Red wine not a problem in moderation!

Beer, well it's a big no I'm afraid!
Carbs and sugars is most of the ingredients.

You will have to be careful what you drink!

A couple of glasses is ok but a whole bottle is too much.
Everything in moderation!

You will have to try it to see what happens or wether you like it!
If you have a blood glucose monitor, you can test everything you eat and drink.

Dry Red or White (or Rose) wines are fine for me.

Light Lager style beers also don't seem to afect me much.

Heavy English/British Beer would be a poor choice I think.

Eggs are one of the best things you can eat.

There are a whole lot of different red wines just like there are different beers. You'll just have to try and see...

If you want to try a lighter red then go for beaujolais or valpolicella. For heavier reds try merlot or shiraz.
I get a bit lost after that! Just try them and see.

I used to be a beer monster so what counts as "moderation" for me might not count for you! Just try and see how it affects you.

You're Type 2. Do you ever experience hypos?

In Type 1 diabetes, alcohol can sometimes cause hypos because it temporarily suppresses the release of glycogen (sugar) from the liver, until the alcohol is all eliminated from the body.
