My Mum gave me 2 x 70% Lindt bars for my birthday last week. Didn't want to upset her, but I will only eat if desperate.

Since those bars have been staring at me, I have been desperate every evening, just after my meal. ;)

Note I didn't sleep well last night, basically ended up properly up at 3.30am having had 3.5 hrs sleep, got to work at 5.30am and still here for about another 40min whilst the copier finishes off some stuff ready for the new term tomorrow!
Pre-breakfast at 4.30am - spoon goats milk ice-cream and dark choc creamy sauce, all made trying to be ultra quiet so as not to wake hubby
B - some slices of cheese and pre-cooked bacon in the staff common room
L - hunters chicken, went for the one with the smallest sauce, plus stirfy veg and cucumber/coleslaw
Snack - babybel
D - small pack port scratchings

Bit hungry still so may pick up a kebab on the way home!

I am praying for sleep tonight, as I had a bad night the previous night too!

Aah the joys of a new school year! I still have a few more days holiday to enjoy but can feel the build up of anxiety - what have I forgotten to do over the holiday?! Good luck for first day back :0)

Bullies, discrimination of any kind, bad manners, parents who let their kids run amok & spoil things for everyone else, unkind spiteful people, being a clumsy clod, toast crumbs in the bed, cold feet!!
B = Bacon, cheese & tomato grilled on Polish Spelt bread.
L = Smoked Mackerel fillet, garden salad, pickled red cabbage, Deli coleslaw.
D = Chicken Casserole, cauliflower mash (from Tesco,) sliced green beans, garlic mushrooms.
Snacks/Supper: = Lemon Greek yoghurt, dark chocolate Brazil nuts, funsize pink lady Apple.

I buy fresh, prepared vegetables that I can zap in the microwave, eat cold or fry with bacon lardons. Can't be bothered to faff on with preparation. Also, I buy my smoked fish cooked. Love prepacked smoked mackerel with black peppercorns. I'm all for an easy life. ;)

Today was the highest carb day I have had in... um... months. And the results were interesting!

B: coffeencream
L: chicken wings starter, with BBQ sauce. I expected chicken wings with a little pot of BBQ. What I got were breadcrumbed chicken wings smothered in a really sweet sauce. Scraped as much off as poss, but it was still far too carby. Then I had Hunters Chicken, which we all know is chicken, cheese and bacon, and sauce again. This time in a pot. With chips. And salad. I ate all but the sauce.
Did I mention this was 6 hours after my coffee brekkie, and I was ravenous.
8.1 at 2 hours. Much better than expected.
But by this time, I was on a roll...
S: chocolate gateau. Oh yes, you heard me. Sublime. And 2 hours after that, 10mmol/l
Which is pretty horrific, given my aim to never go higher than 7.
But I am still amazed that I didn't go MUCH higher. The gateaux must have caught my second insulin response, and mopped up the glucose. Worth remembering this.
Other tests showed that was around the peak, so all in all, quite chuffed, and very surprised.
Not that I will be doing it again soon.
D: Haven't needed anything, but will have some cheese before bed, because I won't sleep if I am hungry.

B - bacon
L - Avocado and babybels (getting into a lunch habit at work)
D - A chicken leg & wings with samphire & spinach
S - bulletproof coffee and "snacking crackling" from M&S, which is basically pork crackling cut into long thin sticks. It's like pork scratchings but just that little bit more poncey! Plus a sneaky little red vino or two.
