Hello

I store my insulin that is not in use in the fridge as per the recommendation.

We had a power cut this morning for a long while the fridge was left shut should i be worried that the Novor rapid will now not be usable?

Would be good to get an idea as i have contacted my diabetic nurse but its taking a while for a response.

Look forward to feedback

If your fridge remained closed and the power cut was fewer than 8 hours, then you are unlikely to have an issue. How cold was everything when you checked after the power resumed?

To be fair, I pick novorapid up from the pharmacy mid afternoon and then don't get it home till 7pm and I've not had any issues with it.

As far I know stored insulin in a fridge shouldn't deteriated unless the temperature gets hotter for many hours. I've had power cuts for a few hours without any problem with insulin but if the power cut happened over a period of days (holidays, hospital stays), then replacing it will be a good idea
